Disney has released a new set of photos from "Beauty and the Beast" that gave viewers a glimpse at Beast's childhood. There are also images that show Gaston's hatred for the hideous prince.

The photos appear on the recent issue of Total Film magazine, which arrives to newsstands on Jan. 17. Games Radar grabbed screenshots of the images and posted them online. There are four images in total, two of which gave fans an understanding about Beast's (Dan Stevens) background story.

The first photo shows Beast and Belle (Emma Watson) inside an abandoned room in the basement. The presence of the crib, the easel and the small bed tucked to the wall, suggest it used to be the prince's room when he was a child.

The second image from "Beauty and the Beast" shows Beast standing near the only window in the room. He has a scowl on his face.

Meanwhile, the two remaining photos feature Gaston (Luke Evans). He is at his tavern surrounded by several women and men, including his trusted servant LeFou (Josh Gad). Fans who saw sneak peeks at the live-action "Beauty and the Beast" may be familiar with these photos already.

These two images are from the scene when Gaston convinced the men to attack the beast's castle. Entertainment Weekly initially shared a similar photo in its November issue, which fans can check out in the video below.

"Beauty and the Beast" opens in US theaters on March 17 and also stars Kevin Kline as Maurice and Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, to name a few. It follows the classic Disney fairytale about a witch who cast a spell on a prince and turned him into a beast. Only true love can break the spell and turn him back into the handsome prince. Belle, taken captive by the creature, eventually sees the goodness in his heart and helps break the spell.
