Miss A's Min will star in the musical rendition of "Boys Over Flowers." The role marks the actress first ever musical appearance.
Previously, it was reported that Min would play the female lead role of the musical show "Boys Over Flowers." The musical is based on the drama and manhwa (comics) of the same title.
"I've always wanted to stand on a musical stage. I'm so happy and excited to have this chance as it's my first musical, I'm very nervous, and I'll be thankful if a lot of people come to see me," the actress revealed as quoted by Allkpop.
Reports reveal that Min will be working with BTOB's Changsub and VIXX's Ken, who will be playing the roles as members of the F4. "Boys Over Flowers" the musical is expected to premiere on Feb. 24.
It is worth noting that the Korean version of the Japanese manga "Hana Yori Dango" previously aired on KBS2 in 2009. Starring Hallyu star Lee Min Ho, South Korean actor Ku Hye Sun, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum, Kim Joon, and Kim So Eun. It airs from Jan. 5 to March 31, 2009 in KBS.
The Korean version marks the manga's fifth television adaption following the Taiwanese series "Meteor Garden" and its sequel "Meteor Garden II" and the Japanese "Hana Yori Dango" and its sequel "Hana Yori Dango Returns." The Taiwanese adaptation of the series stars Taiwanese actors Barbie Hsu, Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Vanness Wu, and Ken Chu which gained popularity throughout Asia.
At the conclusion of the series, F4 Yan, Zhuo, Wu, and Chu continued to perform together and released three studio albums as quartet boy band "F4." However, upon the objection of the Japanese publisher Shueisha, who owns the copyright of to "Hana Yori Dango," the group ceased using the name.
