BBC One's period drama "Poldark" Season 3 promises more drama and intrigue as Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) finally gets her revenge on her philandering husband, Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner). The entry of several new cast members and characters, moreover, will be sure to bring conflict into the Poldarks' beleaguered marriage, already on the rocks because of Poldark's affair with Elizabeth (Heida Reed).
Will the couple survive the season? Here's everything there is to know about "Poldark" Season 3: spoilers, cast updates, release dates and more.
Spoilers for 'Poldark' Season 3: Demelza's affair
Among the highly anticipated moments for "Poldark" Season 3 is when Demelza has finally had enough of Ross's cheating. Earlier in "Poldark" Season 2, Ross had an affair with George Warleggan's (Jack Farthing) wife, Elizabeth. It was heavily implied in the season finale that the affair led to Elizabeth being pregnant, and though she did not reveal who the father was, fans suspect that it was the brooding antihero of the series.
That said, spoilers for "Poldark" Season 3 revealed that Demelza will be taking revenge against her husband by getting into an affair herself. But before fans side with Ross on this one, "Poldark" Season 3 screenwriter Debbie Horsfield hinted that while Poldark has apologized to his wife, he still hasn't quite grasped the gravity of his mistake. She also said that Poldark is older but not necessarily wiser, which would soon cost him the love of not only his wife but also his family and friends.
Hugh Armitage's role in Demelza's plot vs Ross
As per the Winston Graham books on which "Poldark" Season 3 will be based, Demelza will be hooking up with the handsome Hugh Armitage, to be played by Josh Winehouse, according to Digital Spy. However, her revenge will soon backfire on her as she genuinely begins to fall in love with Armitage. Little does she know that Armitage is a manipulative and cunning man who will soon take advantage of her smittenness, according to Radio Times.
"Poldark" Season 3 is expected to air on BBC One around springtime in 2017. Stay tuned for more updates.
