Tom Hardy is rumored to play James Bond. How true are the speculations that he will take on the iconic role? The Brit actor, who received praises for his role in "Mad Max: Fury Road" answered some of the burning questions for him as of the moment.
Tom Hardy was asked by The Daily Beast if he is interested to play Bond. The 39-year-old actor did not directly answer the question with a yes or no. instead, he shared about the saying in the fellowship of his peer group that if they talk about it, they are automatically out of the race. The actor added, "So I can't possibly comment on that one!"
However, Hardy hinted that he is eager to be the next James Bond. He was extra careful about saying a word because he believes that if he mentions it, it will be gone.
He shared that he wants to see Chris Nolan direct a Bond movie. Nolan was known for directing some of the biggest box-office contenders like "Inception," "The Dark Knight," and "Interstellar." If ever this project comes to fruition and Nolan was tapped to do it, there is a huge chance the helmer would take it as he once mentioned that directing a Bond film is his life-long desire.
Hardy currently stars on "Taboo," an eight-part series currently airing on BBC One in U.K. and via FX on the United States. Tom served as one of the creators along with his father Edward Hardy and renowned screenwriter Steven Knight.
In other news, Hardy just confirmed that he will still be involved in the "Mad Max" sequel. According to the actor, he signed to do at least three of those sequels and it's just a matter of "when" these installments will happen.
The fifth installment is also called "Mad Max: The Wasteland." However, Hardy was not so sure whether it will be called The Wasteland because it is a common thing for movies to have a working title and an official title. For now, the only thing he can confirm is that there is a "Mad Max" project underway. In a separate interview with Collider, Hardy said that the most exciting part about doing the project again is working with director George Miller.
