The New York Knicks found themselves again near the bottom of the NBA standings and Carmelo Anthony has been in the hot seat due to the controversies of the team. Despite of the rumors spreading, Anthony confirmed that will stick with the team and his loyalty has been proven.
In a press release by the ESPN, Carmelo Anthony said that though several rumors involving a trade he would still remain a member of the New York Knicks. Anthony told that he has been on the team for many years and already proven his loyalty.
As we have obviously seen the devastating situation of the Knicks since the day that Carmelo Anthony joined the team, still he sticks around. Anthony added that he and the Knicks management don't have issues in between.
Recently, Phil Jackson made a statement that Carmelo Anthony seemed to vanish his usefulness on the team. With this, Anthony was asked about waiving his No-Trade Clause on his contract, as Anthony answered, he said that if that would be the case, it is an issue where he and the management needs to talk about.
Carmelo Anthony signed a five-year deal last 2014 for $121 million. A special deal was included in the contract where the Knicks would pay him a bonus of $10 million if he would waive his No-Trade Clause and if eventually dealt within this year as per the Yahoo! Sports reported.
The Knicks is currently suffering with several losses since day one of 2017. The majority of their losses were crucial games and as always, defense is the issue.
For the last 13 games, the Knicks only won twice. It's no surprise for a losing team with several scoring options and a couple of All-Star players have been in the sports headline today. The Knicks have to prove their fans that they really deserve the chants and cheers.
As of today, the Knicks is reportedly working out their defense after Derrick Rose told Jeff Hornack about pushing the team to do extra work on defense. Fans are expecting for a positive change in the team as they are looking forward to see the Knicks back in the NBA Playoffs.
