The Indiana Pacers (22-19) and Los Angeles Lakers (15-31) clash in a 2016-2017 NBA regular season match at the Staples Center on Jan. 20, Friday.

Indiana is on a roll at the moment with seven wins in their last eight games. The team is currently settled in the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference standings, only a half-game behind the Washington Wizards and one-and-a-half games ahead of the Charlotte Hornets.

In their most recent game on Wednesday night, the Pacers turned back a tough challenge from the Sacramento Kings with a 106-100 victory on the road at the Golden 1 Center for their second consecutive win, as per SB Nation.

Indiana was led by 24 points from Paul George, who shot 8-for-15 from the field and 6-for-6 from the free throw line. He also had four rebounds and three assists.

Jeff Teague had 22 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds while Myles Turner contributed 16 points and five boards.

Off the bench, veteran big man Al Jefferson had 20 points on 9-for-12 field goal shooting with three rebounds and one assist.

Point guard Rodney Stuckey is currently out with a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles is on a downward spiral with five straight losses. The team has lost six of their last eight games and are now second from the last spot in the Western Conference table with the Phoenix Suns the only team having a worse record.

The Lakers dropped a 127-121 game to the Denver Nuggets last Tuesday also at the Staples Center, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Head coach Luke Walton's squad tried to fight back in the fourth quarter after being down by 19 points in the third. They trimmed the gap to only one point, 120-119, with less than two minutes remaining in the game clock, but came up short in the end.

Nick Young led the starters with 22 points, two rebounds, and three steals while Brandon Ingram had 15 points, five boards, four assists, and three steals as a starter as well.

Four bench players scored in double digits, with Lou Williams top-scoring with 24 points and seven assists while Jordan Clarkson, Tarik Black, and Ivica Zubac netting 19, 14, and 11 points respectively.

Prediction 

The Pacers are 6-14 on the road this season while the Lakers are 10-13 at home, but Indiana is predicted to pull off a big win.
