The time-travelling heroes will meet the first president of the United States of America, George Washington, in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 episode 11. The synopsis for this episode titled "Turncoat," teased Washington is in danger and the legends must travel back in time to protect him.
The Legends are forced to travel back to 1776 after they encounter a new Time Aberration that reveals Washington's demise. According to the synopsis for episode 11 from Comicbook Resources, the team must travel in time to protect the president and the American Revolutionary War.
However, they encounter problems along the way, which prompts Captain Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) to send Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Nate (Nick Zano) to help.
Meanwhile, Professor Stein (Victor Garber) and Jax (Franz Drameh) are left to tend to the Waverider. Apparently, the ship is "incapacitated," which means the Legends are stuck in 1776.
There is no mention of Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 episode 11. However, previous photos from the series hinted he is the "Turncoat" referred to in the title. A photo showed him wearing a Redcoat uniform, which suggests he is among the British army fighting against the American's Bluecoat soldiers.
Is Rip really a traitor in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 episode 11? Sellers previously hinted that the former Waverider captain is different when he returns in the midseason. He is not the same Time Master that the team once knew.
"He does come back, just not necessarily the Rip that we remember. That's sort of what is a big part of the second half of the season," Sellers told Cinemablend.
Likewise, it remains unclear which version of Rip Hunter fans will see in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 episode 11. The midseason ended with a reveal that Rip has become a film director. This photo from "Turncoat" clearly shows another version of the character.
