The Chicago Bulls are actively shopping Nikola Mirotic as the latest NBA buzz says. It appears that the Bulls are seeking for a good deal to send Mirotic along with Rajon Rondo before the NBA trade deadline comes.
According to the Bleacher Report, the Bulls sent Nikola Mirotic to the NBA trade block earlier last week and Rajon Rondo was added to the bait. Both players are likely to be traded before the NBA trade deadline approaches as several basketball analysts said so.
It has been said that Mirotic is not developing his talent and looks to have a large regression rate this season. His numbers and contributions are dropping while playing almost the number of minutes as last year. With a current average of 9.3 points and 31% from the 3-point line, it's obvious that his numbers dropped compared to the 11.8 points and 39% 3-point shooting last year.
Nikola Mirotic is a good offensive power forward, with his height, he can rebound and intimidate shots from the perimeter. But then, Mirotic is a liability on the defensive end in most cases, particularly on the post, he body-build cannot stand a full body coalition that will result in an easy low post scoring.
On the other hand, Rajon Rondo is also included on the NBA trade rumor for the past couple of weeks. After the issue of his declining minutes and benching, it appears that the Bulls could possibly let him go as Rondo also mentioned about asking for a trade if the situation continues.
The Bulls are now enjoying their current rotation, having Michael Carter-Williams at the starting point. Though Rondo and MCW have a similar player style, MCW looks to be more efficient on the offensive side due to his height and wingspan.
Meanwhile, the Sports Blaze suggests that the Bulls should give a call to the Sixers. While the Sixers have a logjam at the center position, they might also need a veteran floor leader in the like of Rajon Rondo.
On the other hand, the Bulls are in need of a better big man, and as the suggestion said, Jahlik Okafor could be the answer for the Bulls since he can obviously score and protect the post as well.
