Preview

New York is still struggling this season with four losses in their last six games. The team is still in the 11th spot in the Eastern Conference standings, three games behind current eighth-seeded squad Indiana Pacers.

The Knicks snapped a two-game losing slide by holding off the Pacers' late rally, 109-103, on the road at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Monday night, the New York Daily News reported.

Head coach Jeff Hornacek's squad led by as many as 17 points in the third quarter, but Indiana managed to claw back with a 17-2 run late in the final period.

Carmelo Anthony was the hero in the clutch as he scored a turnaround jumper to give the Knicks a 105-103 lead with less than 24 seconds left on the game clock. He ended up with a team-high 26 points, five rebounds, and two assists.

Derrick Rose backed him up with 20 points, three boards, and six assists while Courtney Lee added 14 points and four rebounds.

Off the bench, Willy Hernangomez and Justin Holiday both scored in double figures with 14 and 13 points respectively.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks have also ended a two-game losing slide with a crushing 122-73 win over the lowly Los Angeles Lakers also at the American Airlines Center last Sunday, as per the Dallas News.

Dirk Nowitzki scored all of his 13 points in the first half of the match to lead the Mavericks in the blowout, the third-largest margin of victory in franchise history. It was also the worst loss in Lakers history.

Seth Curry led the starting unit's balanced attack with 14 points, two rebounds, and three assists. Deron Williams and Wes Matthews both fired 13 points as well with Williams also dishing out eight assists.

Justin Anderson top-scored for Dallas coming off the bench with 19 points, five boards, and two assists with Devin Harris and Pierre Jackson netting 10 points apiece also from the second unit.

Prediction

The Knicks are a poor road team with an 8-15 record so far this season while the Mavericks are 9-12 at home. Both teams are coming off morale-boosting wins, but Dallas is favored to win a close one.
