Samsung might return to the top spot in the smartphone market in Taiwan this second quarter. It was revealed that Samsung's performance with their mid-range models are the key to reclaim their spot.

As revealed by the sources in local retails channels, although the Samsung Galaxy J series has been selling like pancakes, it is not the only line that Samsung has nailed. Their Samsung Galaxy A series, a mid-to-high-end handset has been providing outstanding customer experience for its price, as reported by DigiTimes.

Samsung expressed that it aims to capture 40 percent share of the mid-range smartphone market in Taiwan. On top of this, it is also expected that Samsung will launch its flagship phone "Samsung Galaxy S8" in late April to June this year, further strengthening its sales momentum for the quarter.

However, the only thing that the company should be worried about is the lingering concern about the batteries exploding after its Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. In their recent investigation report, it shows that the explosion was a battery-only issue and the Galaxy Note 7 itself did not contribute to the explosion, as reported by Samsung.

"For the last several months, together with independent industry expert organizations, we conducted a thorough investigation to find the cause of the Galaxy Note7 incidents. Today, more than ever, we are committed to earning the trust of our customers through innovation that redefines what is possible in safety, and as gateway to unlimited possibilities and incredible new experiences," DJ Koh stated during Samsung's press conference in Seoul, Korea.

As their precautionary measure, the company enhance its product safety with additional protocols such as the multi-layer safety measure and 8-Point Battery Safety Check. Samsung also formed a Battery Advisory Group of external advisers, academic and research experts to ensure it maintains a clear and objective perspective with regards to battery safety and innovation.
