Mel Gibson once again made a buzz on the Internet on Jan. 25 for welcoming a new baby for the 9th time. He and his girlfriend, Rosalind Ross, were proud to announce a new addition to their family who is their son, Lars Gerard Gibson.

Based on Page Six's report, the "Passion of the Christ" director was happy to broadcast that his new baby boy came out healthy, weighing 5 pounds and 5 ounces. The whole family was happy about it and Gibson was so excited to bring his new child home.

Although this is Gibson's 9th child, this is the first baby that he has with his new girlfriend who is in her early 20s. The two have been dating for two years now and were very happy that their relationship brought this new life in their world. The 61-year-old actor and director already have 7 children from his ex-wife, Robyn Moore and another one from ex-partner, Oksana Grigorieva.

ABC News got a confirmation about this news from Gibson's publicist. Aside from having a new baby, he also has a new movie called "Hacksaw Ridge," starring Andrew Garfield. This movie marked his return in the business, as he just got nominated for best director for the upcoming Academy Awards.

"Hacksaw Ridge" has also 5 other nominations, which includes best picture and best actor for Garfield's performance as a soldier from World War II. Hollywood Reporter said that it is Gibson's joy to hear the success of his new film while holding his newborn son.

The veteran director was also happy for Garfield with his nomination. He said that they are dedicating the film to all the brave soldiers out there who weren't afraid to offer their lives for the sake of their country. It took Gibson 15 years to be convinced of directing this project and now he is glad to have done it.
