After the success of the first "Jurassic World" movie in 2015, there is no doubt that the studio would want a sequel to it. Hence, "Jurassic World 2" is happening and this time with a new female lead, Daniella Pineda.
According to Cinema Blend, Pineda was known for her work in TV's "The Detour," and she has definitely captured the casting director for this new Jurassic project. The original cast like Chris Pratt (still as Owen Grady) and Bryce Dallas Howard (still as Claire Dearing) will still be part of the second installment.
Variety first reported about the new female lead for this story although they really didn't say the kind of character she will be portraying. So far the movie now has 4 actors included in the story namely, Toby Jones (Sherlock), Rafe Spall (The Big Short) and Justice Smith (The Get Down). The character of Dr. Henry Wu will still be around played by the same guy who was in other Jurassic Park classic edition, B.D. Wong.
This is not Pineda's first major feature film because she has worked with big names in stints like the Newlywed and Sleeping with Other People. Jurassic World 2 however, marks a huge milestone in her Hollywood career.
Meanwhile, the director of this sequel, JA Bayona, couldn't help but tease fans with a picture of his current project. According to Game Spot, he posted on Twitter a photo with a caption that says, "Getting ready for the journey." Check out the photo below.
Bayona won't be the only one helming this major project because Colin Trevorrow will also work on it along with producing and co-writing the screenplay. Watch the return of the scary dinosaurs in "Jurassic World 2" on June 22, 2018.
