The rumored "Skate 4" is now confirmed by the Electronic Arts that it won't happen. This is very sad news after several fans assumed that a new Skate sequel is on the move.
A report from the VG247 said that the EA CEO Andrew Wilson responded to the widely spreading "Skate 4" Tweet earlier this week. The Twitter message with a hashtag "Skate 4" gave a several fans a light as they thought that a new Skate is in development.
Wilson confirmed that they are not presently making "Skate 4." The statement was made during the Q3 2017 Financials as Wilson even made a joke that having "Skate 4" on hold for a very long time may disappoint the EA CFO Blake Jorgensen.
The Twitter message made by the EA community manager is very unexpected to everyone, it was speculated that it may be an internal pitch for the company. So far, the thing that only matters now is the fact that the game is not going to happen as the company said.
"Skate 4" will remain a dream to every skateboarding fan around the world. EA might not know how much makes the game worth to every skateboard video game fanatic since its competitors doesn't provide enough features like the Skate series has.
Skate was last seen back in 2010 when it was first released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. As per the Digital Trends, it is a strange thing that the game series was discontinued though it's been a success after the third sequel. We may recall that EA re-issued the Skate 3 due to its popularity back in 2014.
Obviously, skateboarding video game title selection is very slim making the 2D OlliOlli as the best option if we are going to think of all the skateboarding game available. Several skateboarding fans tend to play this game though it doesn't offer a simulation game style, it is known to be an excellent platformer game that utilizes skateboard tricks.
Before the Skate was born, there is the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. The THPS was very popular skateboard game during its prime, but it was dusted off after the Skate series hit the market.
Today, Tony Hawk Pro Skater was ranked sixth at the top of lowest-scored title on the PlayStation 4. The game was criticized due to non-progressive series that players would normally find the game almost 100% similar to the previous titles.
