BIGBANG is adding another international recognition to their long list of award nominations. The YG Entertainment boy group recently picked up a nomination at the 2017 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
As per SBS, BIGBANG is nominated under the "Favorite Global Music Star" category and is going head to head with international stars Bruno Mars, Little Mix, 5 Seconds of Summer, Zara Larsson and Shakira. This is BIGBANG's first time to get nominated for a KCA.
For the 2017 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, singer Justin Timberlake is leading the pack with seven nominations followed by comedian Kevin Hart with six. Variety reports that "Captain America: Civil War" is dominating the film category having received nods for top awards such as "Favorite Movie," "Favorite #Squad" and "Favorite Actor and Actress."
Also a top contender is "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" with seven nods and "Ghostbusters" and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" each scoring five nominations.
This year's KCA will be hosted by WWE superstar John Cena and will introduce nine new award categories including "Favorite Frenemies," "Most Wanted Pet" and "#Squad."
Voting for the 2017 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards are open until early March. The event will take place on March 11. Voting is also open through Twitter and Facebook using special hashtags.
Meanwhile, BIGBANG is completing their final set of activities before they go on a long hiatus as a group. The members are going to leave for the military soon, starting with T.O.P who will begin his mandatory military service on Feb. 9.
The group's rapper will serve at the Nonsan Army Training Center. After receiving basic military training, he will serve at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency as a member of the guard band.
The other members of BIGBANG are going to pursue solo activities thereafter, and are expected to enlist in the military sometime soon.
