The Samshin grandma from "Goblin" could not hold back her tears while narrating the on-screen love story of Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun. During a recording session, Lee El turned emotional as she talked about the romantic journey of the two characters.
Korean actress, in the special episode aired on Saturday, was featured while doing a recording session for the tvN drama. Lee El narrated how it pains her to meddle with the love story of Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun in "Goblin."
"There are little ones that I blessed [the world with]. Kim Shin felt [romantic] love for the first time with Ji Eun Tak," she said as per Soompi. Lee El continued, "Though it hurts, for my kids, I had no choice but to intervene in their love story."
In "Goblin," the 34-year-old actress had to transform into an old woman for her role as the goddess of birth. According to Allkpop, Lee El admitted she doubted if she could play as an old woman again after learning about the difficulties of putting on makeup and prosthetics.
"I was really worried because I had to look very old. The writer, Kim Eun Sook, was worried about me playing the role back in September when we had the initial script rehearsal," she recalled.
Lee El revealed she had to learn how to speak slowly while keeping her tone low and to master how walk like an old lady. However, the Korean actress felt relieved when she was commended after her first filming for "Goblin."
In the special episode, the makeup team of the tvN drama revealed Lee El had to stay still for four to five hours to keep the prosthetics intact. On the other hand, "Goblin" actor Lee Dong Wook commended the makeup team for the realistic transformation to the actress.
