Prior to his enlistment date, T.O.P made it clear that he wanted to enter the military quietly. In fact, his BIGBANG co-members even had to plead for them to meet him before he starts his duties on Feb. 9.
However, G-Dragon managed to visit T.O.P on Wednesday, a day before the latter's enlistment. Koreaboo reported the two BIGBANG members met at a hair salon, where T.O.P had his military hair cut.
On the same day, G-Dragon took to his Instagram account to share a photo of his meeting with T.O.P. In the SNS post, the rapper was looking clingy towards his co-member.
Aside from that, T.O.P also updated his SNS account with photos of his whereabouts. Before he began his military duties, the BIGBANG member even shared a meal with his mom.
Initial reports stated T.O.P was supposed to greet the media and his fans before he enters Nonsan Army Training Center. However, the idol may have changed his mind as he later announced his desire to enlist privately as per Allkpop.
"I really want to leave quietly today. Please understand even if I leave without any greetings. I'm sorry," T.O.P emphasized.
Many of his fans were saddened by the idol's decision; however, most of them respect T.O.P's appeal to enlist privately. "This is so sad. To think that we have to wait until 2019 to see him again," fan wrote.
Another one said, "Now I have to wait for two more years. But on the bright side, he is serving his country and that is honorable."
The 29-year-old idol becomes the first BIGBANG member to serve the mandatory military service. T.O.P will receive a four-week basic military training at Nonsan Army Training Center. After completing the training, T.O.P will begin serving as a guard band member at Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
