Chris Evans and Jenny Slate have called it quits on their relationship after being together for less than a year.
The reason behind the split is not yet known but an insider revealed to US Weekly that there was no bad blood between the two. "It was completely amicable and a mutual decision due to conflicting schedules and they remain very close friends," the source told the publication.
However, in August 2016, there was a report claiming that Evans was unhappy with his and Slate's relationship. The report stated that Evans was not at all comfortable with the comedian girlfriend's cringe-worthy lifestyle, pot-smoking habits and raunchy comedy.
The former "Saturday Night Live" actress and the "Captain America" star started dating in May 2016 after hitting it off on the set of their upcoming drama, "Gifted." Evans and Slate made their red carpet debut as a couple a month later at the premiere of Slate's film "The Secret Life of Pets" in New York City.
After making their first public appearance together, the "Girls" alum gushed about her new boyfriend in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "I haven't really had a large premiere before, so it's nice to have someone who knows how it goes," she told the publication. "It's kind of like I got my dream 7th grade boyfriend."
Before Evans, 35, and Slate, 34, started dating, she was married to Dean Fleischer-Camp for three-and-a-half years. Slate and Fleischer-Camp pulled the plug on their marriage weeks before both Massachusetts-natives were romantically linked with each other.
Evans was previously rumored to be dating the likes of Minka Kelly, Jessica Biel, Emmy Rossum and "Captain America: Civil War" co-star Elizabeth Olsen. Evans and Slate will be seen together in the upcoming drama film, "Gifted," which hits theaters on April 12. Check out the film's trailer below:
