Marvel has just released the first look of the highly anticipated superhero flick, "Avengers: Infinity War." The three-and-a-half minute clip includes behind-the-scenes footage of the cast, interviews and more information about the film's plot.

The clip kicks off with a brief introduction about the Infinity Stones, which first featured in "Captain America: The First Avenger," according to Polygon. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the Infinity Stones are six immensely powerful gems with unique capabilities that are found in the universe. They are also the gems that power The Vision, and allow Doctor Strange to bend time.

The video then features some of the film's cast members from different phases of the MCU as they share their thoughts about filming. These include Robert Downey Jr., who plays Iron Man, Chris Pratt as Star Lord from the "Guardians of the Galaxy" series and Tom Holland as Spider-Man.

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, then explains how "Avengers: Infinity War" will bring together all the Marvel movies that take place across different universes. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo also reveal some important plot points, including the new galactic supervillain, Thanos.

"Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe that started in May 2008 with Iron Man," Feige was quoted as saying by Gamespot. "Thanos shows us why he is the biggest, the best, the baddest villain that we've ever had. And the most frightening villain that the Avengers have ever faced."

"Avengers: Infinity War" was originally planned as a two-part film. However, a title change later confirmed that it will be made as a single movie and although the second film was shot back-to-back, the Russo brothers have stressed that it will have a completely different storyline.

"Avengers: Infinity War" is slated to hit theaters on May 4, 2018. Check out the film's first look below:
