Actor Tom Hanks is about to release his first published book in October of this year under the publication Knopf. This report has been surfacing the Internet since Feb. 21, Tuesday.
According to USA Today, actor Tom Hanks is doing more than just acting on screen these days because he has also been busy writing his own manuscript. Hanks' publisher announced on Tuesday that he will be coming out with his first book called the "Uncommon Type: Some Stories."
The book is a collection of fictional stories that involves the many different types of typewriters. The publishing company revealed that the "Sully" actor apparently has a collection of over 100 vintage typewriters.
The 60-year-old actor started writing his material in 2015 and said that while he was working on his book, he filmed some movies in different cities of the world. These include New York, Budapest, Berlin, and Atlanta. He wrote in all of the said cities while filming his book. He did multitask for the most part that he would write in his hotel rooms after a press conference. He didn't stop writing for the past two years whether he was on a plane, in his office or in the comfort of his own home. He made a schedule of finishing the book starting at 9 am to 1 pm.
The Guardian also reported Hanks' new project, which is quite different from the usual as this doesn't involve filming. The editor in chief of Knopf, Sonny Mehta, was impressed by Hanks' work as a writer the first time he wrote for The New Yorker.
He wanted more from writings from Hanks after that and luckily, fans are about to see this side of the actor as well. Topics like an immigrant coming to New York after a civil war from his country and a unique billionaire who is venturing in America are just some of the stories that readers will find in Tom Hanks' book.
