After wrapping up the series, "The Good Wife," CBS decided to create a spin-off from it and called it "The Good Fight." It is a courtroom drama since this involves the life of a lawyer, Diane Lockart (Christine Baranski).
According to the network's website, the story revolves around her planned retirement being botched by a Ponzi scheme. Now, all her hard work went for nothing and the worst part is that the law firm she used to work for doesn't want her back after she announced her retirement.
Lockhart is also a mentor of Maia Rendell (Rose Leslie), a rookie lawyer who just joined the firm of Stern, Lockhart and Gardner. After they found out about the financial scam that jeopardized Lockhart's hard earned retirement money, they decided to join another law firm to fight back and win the money that was lost.
It is not only Lockhart's life that was ruined here but even Rindell's. Hence, the reason she agreed to work with her even after being kicked out of the original firm.
After airing its first episode on Feb. 19, "The Good Fight" received a lot of great reviews from critics including the one from Glamour magazine. It is dubbed as the most feminist show on the Internet. The character of Baranski in the show is so compelling, especially whenever she utters some legal lingos.
This show is not free to watch because although it is under CBS, this one airs only on CBS All Access. This means that one must pay $5.99 every month for a subscription. Critics could vouch to viewers that subscribing to it is worth it anyway. Above The Law assured the audience that it is a promising show with quality and there is no reason people shouldn't pay for it.
The ratings went well so far and it is not bad for its first day of airing. Catch "The Good Fight" again on Feb. 26, Sunday.
