The NBA 2016-2017 season is about to enter the NBA Playoff in just a few months, but the race is not over. Top athletes around the league are battling their way to take the crown of becoming the NBA Most Valuable Player award that includes, Russell Westbrook, James Harden and LeBron James.

The top 3 NBA MVP candidates are all deserving to win the award, but it is really hard to admit, only one could only take the trophy. It may be really hard to guess who will bring home the MVP title, would it be the season's triple-double machine Russel Westbrook? The improving James Harden? Or the one-man army LeBron James?

According to the ESPN, the MVP race could be narrowed down between James Harden and Russell Westbrook. Both athletes are known to carry their own respective teams single-handedly while playing with a bunch of role players. Both Harden and Westbrook are a very explosive player with though they have a different playing style.

Harden has become one of the most versatile guard in the league as he can play both point and shooting guard. As per the NBA.com, with his emerging assist numbers, he has become one of the most dangerous threat to every opposing team, not to mention that he can also knock down threes' with his killer step-back shooting.

Meanwhile, Russell Westbrook is also a player to look up to, the triple-double machine. The high-motor point guard is currently averaging 31.9 points, 10.1 assists with 10.5 boards per night and a massive 32 triple-double stats, passing Wilt Chambelain for most.

Russ has become the best point guard in the league after his partner Kevin Durant left the city. He has been a fan favorite due to his nightly performance, but his stats is not too impressive for some of the sports analysts. He has been criticized on his numbers as several analysts said that his rebounding is rigged and uncontested.

Finally, the third candidate, the least attention-grabber, LeBron James. Though the King is surrounded with several good role players and some NBA All-Star in the likes of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, he is still a great performer. It is obvious that LeBron James is the reason why the team is the league's third top team. Though he doesn't show any new career highlights, James still performance consistently, night-in and night-out.
