Former 2NE1 member Sandara Park will embark on another acting project after taking the lead role in "One Step," a Korean adaptation of American movie "Begin Again."

But this time, the idol-turned-actress will take on the bubbly role of Jang Bora in the film adaptation of "Cheese in the Trap." The character was previously played by Park Min Ji in the drama series.

As expected, Sandara Park impressed the production team with her talent in acting. An insider said the former 2NE1 member perfectly suits the character for "Cheese in the Trap" movie.

"We were very surprised by how well Sandara Park was able to pull of the blunt, refreshingly straightforward character of Jang Bora and decided she was very well-qualified for the role," the source said as cited by Soompi.

Sandara Park's love interest in the upcoming movie will be played by Kim Hyun Jin. His role as Kwon Eun Taek was previously portrayed by model-turned-actor Nam Joo Hyuk.

His character will try to protect his long-time friend Jang Bora, whom he admires secretly. Based on the plot, Kwon Eun Taek and Jang Bora's friendship is expected to blossom into something special in the film adaptation of "Cheese in the Trap."

Prior to this movie, Kim Hyun Jin will have his acting debut with "Man to Man" where he will share the small screen with "Cheese in the Trap" star Park Hae Jin.

The rookie actor and former 2NE1 member will join the cast members of the upcoming movie for their first meeting on Saturday, Mar. 25. The film is expected to start rolling in April.

Meanwhile, Sandara Park recently talked about her big screen debut with "One Step." Allkpop cited the idol-turned-actress has decided to accept the project because of its genre.

"I selected this project because it was a music-based film.  However after reading the script and realizing my character suffered from colored hearing synesthesia, I thought hard on it," she admitted.

Sandara Park's "One Step" is slated to hit the theaters in April.
