The first photo of Alicia Vikander as "Tomb Raider" in the remake of Angelina Jolie's infamous heroine character. Is there any difference in the new and old Lara Croft?
According to Mirror.co.uk, the first look and photo of Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft in the "Tomb Raider" remake has been released. The "Ex Machina" actress receives an overhaul in the highly-anticipated movie, which will be released next year.
The outlet unveils the plot for the remake of "Tomb Raider" with the new heroine, Alicia Vikander. Lara Croft played by Vikander is a bike messenger who will be searching for his missing father, played by Dominic West who was lastly known to be at a tomb located off the coast of Japan.
An official synopsis has been shared by Mail Online writing, "Seven years after the disappearance of her father, 21-year-old Lara has refused to take the reins of his global business empire, instead working as a bike courier in London while taking college classes."
The director of the reboot, Director Roar Uthang unveils the plot of the story. Vikander plays the role of a young, smart woman who is capable of doing extraordinary think, yet can become unfocused at times. Croft will be pushed to her limits as she takes on a dangerous journey to find her father.
"What is different about this Tomb Raider movie is that it is an origin story for the big screen, focusing not only on Lara’s strength and physical accomplishments but her humanity," Uthang says in an interview.
Fans have last seen the last "Tomb Raider" movie played by Angelina Jolie back in 2003. Several moviegoers think that Lara Croft is a female version of Indiana Jones. The upcoming remake stars Alicia Vikander, Daniel Wu, Walton Goggins and Dominic West, which will be premiering on March 16, 2018.
