Half-hour sitcoms such as "Family Guy" have now become the most iconic and wanted television series these days, especially with technology to help in getting easy access to them. Netflix has now become one of the most famous apps in the world in being able to watch both old and new TV shows.

There have been reports indicating that a survey or a study has been conducted by Best Mattress Brand proving that watching TV shows in order to fall asleep is normal and not alarming. According to Observer, the study has shown that 58 percent of those who were surveyed are most likely to watch TV before they go to bed while the remaining 42 percent sleep a few minutes after bed even without it. In line with this, FOX's long-time running show "Family Guy" is at 20.2 percent, showing that the said American sitcom has been one of the most comforting shows that Americans prefer to watch.

Thus, reports have claimed that the sound of the voice of Seth MacFarlane talking about AIDS jokes in a Boston accent is one of the most soothing sounds to Americans' ears. Comedies highly belong to the top percentage of the survey, including "American Dad" and "Bob's Burgers." Nevertheless, other non-comedy shows also make it to the list, but not as highly preferred by viewers as those comedies. It has been a known and a better chosen aspect to watch television in order to sleep, and the familiarity of laughter in the background looks to be more promising to the audience. "Family Guy" of FOX adjusted negatively a tenth percent in their ratings, including the show "America's Funniest Home Videos" as reported by TV By The Numbers.

The rating of "Family Guy" reportedly decreased during the broadcast on primetime last Sunday, March 26, 2017. The show airs every 9pm, although still accessible via the internet.
