BTOB's Sungjae had a rare opportunity to share the small screen with two of the finest actors in Korea on tvN's blockbuster hit "Goblin." Hence, the idol-turned-actor could not help but recall his experience working with Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook in a recent interview.
On the April 1 episode of Yoo Hee Seol's Sketchbook," BTOB members graced the show to talk about their plans this year. When asked about his recent acting project, Sungjae candidly shared what it felt like working with his seniors in "Goblin."
"At first, I didn't dare to approach them, but then I found out that they're actually a bit sloppy," he said, referring to Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook.
"They treated me really well so we were able to get along like brothers," Sungjae added as per Soompi.
For the tvN drama, the 21-year-old idol played as Yoo Deok Hwa, a chaebol living under the same roof with the Goblin and Grim Reaper. Obviously, his character has allowed him to share plenty of scenes with Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook.
In a previous interview, Sungjae admitted he accepted the role without even looking at the script after learning about the casting lineup. He also revealed that he is friends with his "Goblin" co-actors.
"I talk frequently with Lee Dong Wook over the phone, as well as Gong Yoo," he said as cited by Allkpop.
In fact, the two actors along with Kim Go Eun attended BTOB's concert last January 22 to show their support to Sungjae. An affiliate of Cube Entertainment said the member did not know his seniors would come to watch the show.
"He only heard afterward. When he heard, he said he was thankful," the source said.
Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook and Kim Go Eun reportedly watched the first part of BTOB's concert before they joined the cast and crew of "Goblin" to celebrate the success of the drama.
