In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Arrow" Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim talked about Felicity's future.
"We're starting to put her in Oliver's footsteps a little bit," EP Guggenheim said. "She's going to get a chance to experience things a little bit more from Oliver's perspective. I think the reason they broke up was her difficulty to see things from Oliver's perspective. They broke up fundamentally because she didn't trust Oliver, and the reason she didn't trust Oliver is she couldn't understand why he made the decisions he made."
Meanwhile, in an interview with TV Line, Guggenheim confirmed that the show will finally reveal answers related to Felicity and Oliver's breakup in Season 4 in upcoming Season 5 episode 20. The EP promised an "Olicity-centric episode" that will tie the loose ends and reveal why the couple ended their engagement.
