Delhi Daredevils, finally, join the victory league on Tuesday after Sanju Samson's hundred ensured the team's first win in IPL 2017. After posting a mammoth 205 in 20 overs, Delhi Daredevil defeated Rising Pune Supergiant by 97 runs in Pune.

Delhi Daredevils started off with Aditya Tare's duck and things looked bleak, but Sam Billings and Sanju Samson took charge. After Billings' wickets were destroyed by Tahir's incoming delivery it was 71 for 2. Rishabh Pant and established another solid partnership with Samson. However, a direct hit by Mayank Agarwal compelled Pant to head back to the dugout.

During the match, Samson played some fine shots and completed his maiden hundred in IPL with a four. But, the next delivery by Adam Zampa took the better of Samson and he was bowled out.

However, it wasn't over for the Daredevils. Chris Morris came in like a hurricane and whacked the ball across the stadium. By the time it was over, Rising Pune Supergiant were looking at a mountain of a total.

A shaky start and no partnerships led to Supergiants bundle up with just 108 on the board.

Samson was declared the man of the match for his balanced ton.

"Almost a perfect game, we needed that. This team has got plenty of potential, just need to back them. We just need to work on the processes. We have some good headache in our bowling, Shami, Rabada and Jayant are sitting out. It's just about clicking during a match situation. I have strong muscle memory I guess, the 92 Tests I have played has helped. The physios and trainers have worked a lot, I am enjoying my time. We have a young side, there's plenty of energy around. We got a lot of things right in the first game, but this win will help us go a long way in the tournament," Zaheer Khan said after the victory.
