Nothing can stop Kim Hyun Joong from meeting his fans! The singer-actor, who was recently discharged from the military, finally held his first-ever fan meeting show yesterday, April 29, at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park.

The "Anemone" fan meeting over the weekend was his first public appearance after he was mired in a series of controversies with former girlfriend as well as a recent DUI case.

"I've unreasonably held a fan meeting. I felt that if I didn't take this chance, it would be a long time until I see you," Kim Hyun Joong told his fans as per Allkpop. "Though I'm very apologetic, it turns out I'm holding this event."

The "Boys over Flowers" actor also announced his plan to invade Japan for a fan meeting tour in June.

Thousands of people gathered for Kim Hyun Joong's first public event including fans and celebrities. The singer-actor specifically mentioned two of his SS501 co-members who were present at the fan meeting show.

"I am thankful to [Kim] Kyu Jong and [Heo] Young Saeng who came today," he said.

Before the show, Kim Hyun Joong received a fine of 2 million KRW (over 1,700 USD) for driving under the influence of liquor shortly after he got out from the military.

"We haven't received anything from the court yet and believe that the letter is still in the process of being delivered," his agency said as cited by Soompi. "However, we plan to accept whatever the court has ordered and pay our dues once we receive it."

Earlier reports stated Kim Hyun Joong was caught red-handed when he fell asleep behind the wheel while waiting at the traffic light. Upon checking, it was revealed that his blood alcohol level was at 0.0075 which compelled the authorities to suspend his driver's license.

The singer-actor, on the other hand, acknowledged his mistake and promised to reflect on the issue.
