Long-running variety program "Running Man" is currently in hot water for a previous episode with Choi Min Yong. Apparently, one of the original cast members went over the top with his actions towards their celebrity guest.
According to Koreaboo, the "Running Man" episode in question was aired on April 2 where Haha and Choi Min Yong brawled to win a mission. In the midst of their friendly fight, the show's member grabbed the latter's private part to win an advantage against him.
The Korean Communications Standards Commision, however, considered this act among others "inappropriate" which compelled them to include "Running Man" on the list of TV shows to be reviewed.
An affiliate of the committee in charge for the deliberation said the SBS variety program will be reviewed on May 10 for the nature of its games and missions which often lead to physical violence.
"One guest showed inappropriate behavior by grabbing a vital body part of his opponent's in a game where participants had to withstand pain," an official explained.
Netizens, on the other hand, argue over the latest issue of "Running Man." Avid followers of the popular program questioned the timing of the controversy, while others agree that the show needs to be called out for the inappropriate acts of the members and guests.
"This was a couple of episodes back. Why are they complaining just now? They shouldn't be surprised since Haha and Kwang Soo have done this or similar things a couple of times now," a commenter wrote.
A netizen countered, "I totally thought Haha's actions towards the guest was very inappropriate. Just because you're a guy doing it to a guy doesn't mean it's okay. Even if you are old friends. Obviously the guest was uncomfortable as well."
