Plan A Entertainment confirmed on Wednesday, June 8 that Korean star Namjoo from "A Pink" is returning for the second season of the hit TV series "Detective Alice." She will retain her role as Chun Yeon Joo, the lead character.
The Korean actress received a lot of positive feedback during the first season, so the network has decided to renew her role. She is also set to work with the guitarist of F.T, Seunghyun.
Detective Alice was Namjoo's debut as a leading character. It first aired on "Dramafever." The TV series was also aired in the United States where it gained popularity, especially with the young age group.
Namjoo played the role of a detective investigating a number of crimes. She stars alongside the famous actor Jo Donghyuk. They work at the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety investigating illegal crimes that violate the law.
What makes the series interesting is that aside from being a romantic comedy, it broke a new genre by adding suspense and action. The series had a feel of a comic investigation and despite the fact that it only had eight episodes it still made it to the top drama lists. The first teaser was released in October 2015.
But not all feedbacks of the show were positive. A lot of fans expressed disappointment as they commented that Namjoo did not portray the role well. She was just too cute for the character, some said. Some commented that she overacted which ruined the image of the character.
However, positive comments from her supporters apparently outweighed those of her critics because she is still the first choice for the role. Plan A Entertainment has still not announced the official date when the next season of "Detective Alice" will start airing.
