The Chinese edition of the survival show Law of the Jungle features Taiwanese actor and singer Nicky Wu as one of the contestants. Wu is said to have learned more about catching fish in preparation for the series.
Law of the Jungle is a reality documentary that follows a cast of celebrities. They are thrown into a distant and less-civilized area. They will learn how to survive on their using natural resources as well as interacting with locals.
A new photo of Wu surfaced online showing him shirtless as he was tasked to catch fish for their food. The photo has been creating a buzz on social media as netizens say that the 45-year-old actor still looks fit just like when he was younger.
This is the first season of the Chinese version of the series, which originated in South Korea.
Law of the Jungle, China edition, premiered on June 11 on Anhui TV. Aside from Wu, other cast members part of the pilot season are Chinese actors Li Yapeng, Sun Yizhou, and Xiaoshenyang, Chinese rapper Huang Zitao, Chinese gymnast Xing Aowei, and the only female in the group, Lynn Hung, a Hong Kong-based fashion model and actress originally from mainland China. They have been sent to the remote areas in Vanuatu, an island nation located in the South Pacific Ocean.
The cast will be staying in Vanuatu for three weeks and are not allowed to access any of technology such as mobile phones. They are also not allowed to access preserved foods, lighters, or other things that will help make life easier for them in the jungle.
The Chinese version of Law of the Jungle has been highly anticipated as the South Korean version was very popular. It is already in its fourth season in South Korea.
