Ayumi Hamasaki has released videos for her singles Flower and Mad World from her latest album Made In Japan.
The album Made In Japan, which is currently available for streaming exclusively on AWA, would be available for physical and digital purchase starting June 29.
The song Flower starts off in traditional tones, but there is a sudden incursion of rock into the mix. The video shows Ayumi sitting gracefully on a couch in a very beautiful room at the start and culminates in her cutting off her hair with a pair of scissors, showing a contrast between calm and chaos.
The video of Mad World, on the other hand, shows Ayumi singing the song on stage wearing torn jeans and a plain white shirt at the start. After a while, her team comes in to transform her into her diva and then videos of her nearly 20-year career starts playing in the background.
Hamasaki, who is fondly called "Ayu" by her fans, debuted with the single Poker Face on April 8, 1998, under Avex. She is credited for writing or co-writing all of her songs as well as producing them, most evident in her albums My Story and I Am... Rainbow.
From an unassuming start, Ayumi has eventually become a household name - not only in Japan but also in other parts of Asia. She is now billed as the "Empress Of J-Pop."
Besides music, Ayumi has also dabbled in movies and fashion.
