The drama Descendants of the Sun took Asia by storm during the first half of this year, but season 2 is still in production. So, here is a list of five upcoming dramas that fans can enjoy while waiting for Descendants of the Sun Season 2.
1. One of these dramas, which is set to premiere on July 6, is entitled Uncontrollably Fond. The show will be starring actor Kim Woo-bin and singer and actress Suzy. The two recently finished shooting for the KBS romance drama series, KPop Herald reported.
In one of the recent trailers of Uncontrollably Fond, Kim's character Shin Joon-young is seen driving around in cool cars, and Suzy's character No Eul is desperately going after him. The drama will be broadcast simultaneously in five countries namely mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, North America, and South Korea.
2. Another drama that fans can look forward to, which is set to be released on July 20, is W. The show stars Lee Jong-suk and Han Hyo-joo. It is also a romantic drama series. Lee's character is a wealthy man while Han's is a second-year resident doctor of thoracic surgery.
3. Moonlight Dawn by Clouds is another upcoming TV series. On August 15, the drama Moonlight Drawn by Clouds will be premiering. It will be taking over KBS2's Monday and Tuesday 10:00 p.m. timeslot. The 20-episode drama will center on the love story of crown prince Hyomyung and Joseon Era. Hyomyung will be played by Park Bo Gum.
4. TIn November, fans can look forward to tvN's drama Goblin. It will feature Gong Yoo, Lee Dong-wook, and up and coming actress Kim Go-eun. The drama is written by the same scriptwriter of Descendants of the Sun, Kim Eun-sook.
5. Also in November, the drama Legend of the Blue Sea will be hitting the small screens. Lee Min Ho will make his comeback in the SBS drama along with Jun Ji Hyun. It is said to be a fantasy drama as it has a mermaid-themed.
The second season of KBS' drama Descendants of the Sun is set to be aired sometime in 2017.
