The exciting new SBS drama thriller Wanted will premiere Wednesday, June 22. At a press conference on Tuesday, the production team behind Wanted revealed that this would be the most realistic TV series ever in Korea.
At the event, the chief producer for the show Park Young Soo, said, "This is going to be the most realistic thriller drama in Korea so far."
According to him, the drama will be a reflection of the everyday fears people have in their daily lives. "I focused on the fear that we face in our everyday lives. I tied those events with the main plot of a mother struggling to find her lost kid," Soompi reported.
According to Drama Beans, Wanted starts when the son of a Hallyu actress, played by Kim Ah-joong, gets kidnapped on the very same day she is about to announce her retirement.
The kidnapper gives the actress a series of orders that she has to follow on live television, making it some sort of a twisted reality show. Of course, the actress, desperate to get her son back, follows the kidnapper's wishes.
Helping her are a television producer (played by Uhm Tae-woong) and a detective (played by Ji Hyun-woo).
Kim Ah-joong is very proud of this project and is said to have performed her stunts on the show. Park Young Soo revealed,
"Actress Kim Ah-joong received many bruises while filming. She didn't want a stunt double. I know that she will express the mind of a mother who has lost her child well. Please look forward to it," Park revealed.
Wanted premieres on SBS and will be aired on Wednesday and Thursday.
