SBS has released a picture of Girls' Generations' Seohyun to introduce her character "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo" in the upcoming movie "Moon Lovers." The actress posted the photo on her Instagram account.
Seohyun is set to play the character of Princess Woo-hee, the third Ryeo Sister and the last princess of the Hoobaekjae Kingdom. Later on, she becomes an entertainer in order to hide as her kingdom fell into the Goryeo Dynasty. Only little is known about her character at this point.
The picture released by SBS shows Seohyun wearing a traditional Hanbok while holding up two swords. Her gaze is described as riveting as she depicts her character with fierceness.
"Moon Lovers" is Seohyun's comeback film. Her first project was in late 2013 when she played the character of Han Yoo-rim for the film "Passionate Love." She played the love interest of Kang Moo, who was played by Sung Hoon. She played a supporting role appearing in only five episodes.
Before being given a real spot in the acting profession, Seohyun started out as a voice actor. She was the voice behind the character of Margo in the Korean dubbed version of "Despicable Me" and "Despicable Me 2."
Aside from "Moon Lovers," Seohyun is also expected to be part of the musical production "Mamamia" which is expected to be released sometime this year. She will play the role of Sophie.
"Moon Lovers" will premier on August 29.
