Charlie Hunnam has addressed whether or not he is willing to make a guest appearance in the upcoming spinoff of "Sons of Anarchy." The actor, known for portraying Jax on the hit FX series, revealed the reason for choosing not to participate in the offshoot project in a recent interview.

According to Hunnam, he and Kurt Sutter share a bad history of working together, to the point that they almost got physical during one encounter.

"I love that guy," Hunnam told Mens Journal.

"But it was hard for us to work together sometimes because we're both crazy fucks."

While the actor did not dismiss the idea of reprising his role as Jax, he explained that Sutter is busy working on the spinoff and he is unsure whether the story would call for his character to make an appearance.

In May, FX has officially ordered the title and formal script for the upcoming "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff which centers on the Mayans, Deadline reported. The project, titled "Mayans MC," is co-created and produced by Sutter and Elgin James, who will also pen the script.

FX is describing the offshoot as a dark, visceral family drama that takes a new look at the most American icons, the 1 percent outlaw, this time reflected through a Latino lens. Details about filming locations and casting of "Mayans MC" are still under wraps, but are expected to get leaked as soon as the project begins production.

"Sons of Anarchy" was a huge success for FX over its seven year-run, and ranked as the highest rated drama in the history of the cable network. After the show wrapped-up, Sutter moved to his short lived drama, "The Bastard Executioner."

FX has yet to announce the official release date of "Mayans MC."
