Taiwan actor Kai Ko, who was questioned over his use of marijuana in China last month, has admitted to using drugs, specifically marijuana, for at least eight times in the past two years, Chinese media reported.

Taipei Times and China's CRIENGLISH.com reported that Ko claimed he used drug at Jaycee Chan's mansion in Beijing. The drugs, he said, allegedly came from Jayce, the son of Chinese superstar Jackie Chan.

The Taiwanese actor also added that the for most of the time, he smoked marijuana inside the luxury apartment in Beijing.

Ko was arrested in Beijing and held in detention for two weeks after his name cropped up when Jaycee Chan was arrested. Authorities said Ko smoked marijuana with Jaycee.

Ko, who rose to fame following his performance in the movie "You Are the Apple of My Eye", was at the Taipei District Prosecutors Office last Monday for the scheduled questioning.

The 23-year-old actor did not issue any comment to the horde of reporters waiting for him outside the prosecutors' office.

Officials from the Bureau of Investigation, the Ministry of Justice and the Taipei Police Criminal Investigation Division were on hand to take hair and urine samples for analysis in search of other possible drug use.

The result of the analysis will be out next week. His lawyer applied to the court for a postponed prosecution, saying Ko will go to rehab in a hospital at his own expense.

A prosecutor said Ko could be recommended to undergo observation and rehabilitation for at least 40 days should the result of the analysis prove that he is positive of marijuana use. The result of the test will also be forwarded to Chinese authorities as evidence.

Chinese authorities earlier said it has flagged at least 20 Chinese stars who are allegedly involved in the use of illegal drugs. The Chinese stars include those in the mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
