The Chelsea-Romelu Lukaku summer transfer saga has taken an interesting turn as the Blues are reportedly willing to include goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and striker Loic Remy plus cash in a package to snag the Belgian goalscorer from Everton.

Everton had already rejected the latest £65 million bid from the Stamford Bridge giants for Lukaku as the Merseyside squad is said to be demanding £75 million for the 23-year-old Belgium international.

But now, head coach Antonio Conte is rumored to be willing to part ways with two of his best players just to complete the "mega deal", as per The Sun.

Lukaku was a former underused Chelsea player for two seasons before his switch to Everton in the summer of 2013. He was first sent to the Toffees on a season-long loan before the move became permanent after the 2013-2014 season.

He impressed Everton officials during that first term with the squad, scoring 15 goals in 31 appearances in the English top flight, which earned him a five-year contract with the club in 2014-2015. Everton paid Chelsea a transfer fee of £28 million at that time.

Lukaku went on a goalscoring spree since then, netting 61 goals in 127 games in all competitions for Everton.

Now, the Toffees want £47 million more than what they paid for two summers ago if the Blues want their striker back.

Everton is said to be also in a lookout to sign a new goalkeeper to replace current no. 1 Tim Howard and so Conte is ready to include Begovic just to persuade the Toffees to give up Lukaku.

Aside from that, Chelsea will also not leave them lacking of attacking options as Remy will also be added in into the deal.

Meanwhile, Caught Offside noted that Conte is keen on acquiring the young Belgian star as he sees him as a "significant improvement" on current first-choice striker Diego Costa.

The report said that Lukaku's goalscoring rate was "a goal every 176.5 minutes" while Costa's was "one every 198.25 minutes" based on their stats last term.

Costa is also four years older than Lukaku at 27 years old, but a combination of both in Conte's attacking front could really instigate headaches in opposing coaches.
