There will be a crossover event between "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "New Girl" this fall on FOX. The one-hour installment has been scheduled to air on Tuesday, Oct. 11 beginning with "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" at 8PM and ending on "New Girl" at 8:30PM.
The news of the crossover event involving "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "New Girl" has been announced by a spokesperson from FOX at the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour on Monday, TV Line has learned. Plot details are scarce for now, but the network revealed that the cast members of "New Girl" will travel to "Brooklyn Nine-Nine's" New York setting. It is yet to be known which character/s from both sitcoms will get the central arc on the upcoming crossover.
"We're all huge fans of New Girl here at the Nine-Nine, and we're excited to see our characters interact and to work with their incredible writers and producers," Brooklyn Nine-Nine creator and executive producer Dan Goor said in a statement.
"And also to see what their craft services are like, compared to ours."
The crossover of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "New Girl" this fall will mark as the second crossover event on FOX. In 2015, the network also mashed up "Sleepy Hollow" with "Bones" - an event that recorded both shows' its best ratings of the season.
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will feature the guest appearances of Maya Rudolph (SNL) and Ken Marino (Agent Carter) in Season 4. The series stars Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Chelsea Peretti, Terry Crews and Melissa Fumero.
Meanwhile, "New Girl" Season 6 will feature the return appearance of Megan Fox, TV Line reported. The hit sitcom stars Zooey Deschanel, Max Greenfield, Hannah Simone and Jake Johnson.
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "New Girl" will return with new episodes beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 20 on FOX.
