Chinese singer and actress Zhu Zhu is all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite superstar Salman Khan in "Tubelight."

The 32-year-old popular Chinese VJ has been roped in to play female lead in Kabir Khan's period drama. Zhu Zhu, who previously appeared in several Chinese and international projects such as "The Man with the Iron Fists," "Shanghai Calling," also worked with top Hollywood stars Tom Hanks and Russell Crowe.

Salman Khan is currently shooting for the movie in Ladakh. The Chinese actor, who was also in Ladakh, shared a picture with "Sultan" star at her social media accounts.

"Tubelight is said to be a tale of two brothers played by real life siblings Salman Khan and Sohail Khan, where Salman plays a mentally deficient man who falls in love with a Chinese girl. Noting that the heroine's character is Chinese, it makes all kinds of sense that Kabir has opted for a Chinese actor," India Today reported.

"Tubelight" will be third film of successful director-actor pair of Kabir Khan and Salman Khan after massive hits "Ek Tha Tiger" and "Bajrangi Bhaijaan." The period drama is reportedly based on 1962 Sino India war.

"In terms of its emotional space, it is similar to Bajrangi Bhaijaan. But the story is very different. It is more of humor and emotional space that we (Salman and I) haven't delved into," director Kabir said recently, reported Hindustan Times newspaper.
