With more than a month away from its fall debut, CBS has released the official synopsis for the Season 3 premiere of "NCIS: New Orleans." Meanwhile, "Hot in Cleveland" actress Wendie Malick has been cast to play the role of Sebastian's mother.

A new member of the team will be introduced on the premiere of NCIS New Orleans Season 3. According to the press release shared by SpoilerTV, FBI Special Agent Tammy Gregorio is sent to investigate Pride and his team following the aftermath of Russo's case. Gregorio will be played by new series regular Vanessa Ferlito (Graceland).

Elsewhere, the season opener will also find the NCIS team partnering with several federal agencies as they track the location of a sniper at large - who they discovered at a crowded festival. The network also confirmed that the exit of Agent Brody (played by Zoe McLellan) will be addressed during the Season 3 premiere.

In other developments, "Hot In Cleveland" actress Wendie Malick will guest star on "NCIS New Orleans" Season 3, Entertainment Weekly reported. Malick will play Sylvia Lund, the loving and overprotective mother of Sebastian (Rob Kerkovich). Malick's Sylvia is the type of mother who "unabashedly" worries about her son's health, well-being and safety, the casting report teased.

Malick, who is also set to recur on FOX's "Pitch," will make her "NCIS New Orleans" debut in the fourth episode of Season 3. The actress' recent credits also include "Just Shoot Me" and "Rush Hour".

"NCIS New Orleans" also stars CCH pounder, Scott Bakula, Lucas Black and Daryl Mitchell. Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 10PM on CBS.
