Could it be that Daniel Padilla is already Kathryn Bernardo's babe?

Philippine Teen King and Queen Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo made headlines anew after their video shot at their mother network's annual red carpet event spread online.

As anticipated by their followers and the press, Padilla and Bernardo were together at the special event held at Shangri-La Makati's Rizal ballroom on Saturday.

As the pair ascended the hotel stairs, Bernardo was overheard calling Padilla "babe", while instructing him to take their pictures.

Padilla was likewise heard in the video saying, "yes, babe", unwittingly making people speculate that there must be something there that the young onscreen sweethearts aren't admitting in public.

Shortly after the incident, TV talk show host Kris Aquino quipped in her late night show, "What's in the word 'babe'? Is it common for guys and girls to call each other that term of endearment if they're just friends?"

Likely not.  Still, no admissions have been made as of yet.

Padilla and Bernardo are two of the most popular stars of their generation, with their fan base in the Philippines and elsewhere continuing to grow.

Their fan group "Kathniel" is the most enthusiastic in showing support to the pair by consistently watching their shows and movies. They are also known to be aggressive in defending their idols from bashers.

Forums about the "babe" incident have sprung everywhere and the topic has been trending since the video was first uploaded on social media.

Padilla and Bernardo recently worked in the blockbuster hit "She's Dating the Gangster," which was adapted from a popular novel.
