Toei Animation has just released the promotional trailer for the third installment in the "Digimon Adventure tri." anime film series, titled "Digimon Adventure tri. Kohukaku (Confession)."
The promo video posted on YouTube features Yamato Ishida and Taichi Yagami and their respective Digimon, Gabumon and Agumon. Various scenes from the series are shown, accompanied by the ending theme song "Boku ni Totte (For Me)" by Knife of Day. CrunchyRoll says KOF is Yamato Ishida's band, voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya.
According to Animate Times, the upcoming film will show the protagonists trying to find the cause of Meikūmon's infection. Kōshirō decides to quarantine Agumon and the other Digimon in his office to keep the sickness from spreading, but Patamon then begins to show symptoms. Using Hikari's voice, the Digimon tell the humans a secret about the Digital World, and that "the time is coming." After learning the secret, they make a decision even though they have mixed emotions. This is where their new adventures begin.
According to Anime New Network, paid streaming in Japan of "Digimon Adventure tri. Kohukaku" will start on the same day as its first day of screening, on Sept. 24, and Blu-ray copies will be also available for sale in movie houses. The Blu-ray disc and DVD will be put up for sale in Japan starting Nov. 2. The film will also be streamed on Crunchyroll in October.
"Confessions" is the third film in the series. The first one, titled "Saikai (Reunion)," was released in Japan in November 2015, and the second one, titled "Ketsui (Determination)," was released last March. Toei is expected to release a total of six films in celebration of the 15th anniversary of Digimon franchise, created by Akiyoshi Hongo. The films are sequels to "Digimon Adventure" and "Digimon Adventures 02."
