Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund is reportedly set to challenge English Premier League team Everton FC for goalkeeper Joe Hart who is said to be being offered by Manchester City for £20 million.
Recent reports have said that new Toffees manager Ronald Koeman is keen on adding the 29-year-old England international before the summer transfer window closes on Sep. 1 as his squad is short on goalies at the moment.
The former Southampton boss is said to be trying to get him via a season-long loan contract only, though, with the option of making it permanent in the future and it is not yet known whether City will approve such a deal.
According to Caught Offside, Dortmund has "joined the race to sign Joe Hart from Manchester City" even as the keeper is now also "open to a move away" from the Etihad after a decade of service.
Hart was benched by new City head coach Pep Guardiola during the team's Premier League opener against Sunderland last Saturday and in Tuesday's Champions League match versus Steaua Bucuresti, which ended in 2-1 and 5-0 wins for the Manchester outfit.
With Guardiola preferring backup shot stopper Willy Caballero over the 6-foot-5 Shrewsbury, England native in both occasions, it seems like Hart's 10-year stay at the Etihad is really close to coming to an end.
The Sun indicated that the Spanish mentor is lining up FC Barcelona goal tender Claudio Bravo as Hart's replacement.
Rumors have emerged that the Camp Nou residents have already approved a £14.5 million deal to let go of their veteran Chilean keeper and that Bravo could be an official City player by the end of this week. Barça is rumored to have chosen Marc-Andre ter Stegen to stay at their side moving forward as Guardiola had targeted both of the Spanish club's goalkeepers.
Aside from Dortmund and Everton, big-name clubs Liverpool and Sevilla are also speculated to be interested in acquiring Hart after he was officially released by City.
Hart is in his 10th season with the Citizens this 2016-2017 and had appeared in a total of 347 games in all competitions for the club during the said time period.
