One of the greatest dreams of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, who is a big fan of South Korean actor and singer Choi Siwon, 29, is to become a Bond girl. It will then be interesting to have the K-pop band Super Junior member as the first Asian James Bond with the Filipino beauty queen as the second Filipino Bond girl.
After Wurtzbach’s coronation as Miss Universe 2015, Choi took to Instagram to congratulate her. He posted a photo of himself with his “Dragon Blade” co-star Adam Brody with a caption, "Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach :) Heartfelt Congratulations on your Miss Universe 2015 Award, and please be my guest for next SUPERSHOW! Looking forward to seeing you shining the world :^)"
Neither Wurtzbach nor Siwon is new to acting. The Filipino beauty queen worked as an actress and a model in her home country Philippines before winning Miss Universe 2015 while Choi starred in several films and TV series in South Korea.
More recently, Siwon starred in “Dragon Blade,” which was released in the United States on Sept. 4, 2015. Written and directed by Daniel Lee, the action drama film also starred Brody, John Cusack and Jackie Chan, who is currently shooting in Beijing with Bollywood star Sonu Sood, according to Times of India.
Siwon has yet to reveal whether or not he is interested in following the footsteps of James Bond actors, including Barry Nelson, Bob Holness, Bob Simmons, Sean Connery, Roger Moore, David Niven, George Lazenby, Christopher Cazenove, Timothy Dalton, Michael Jayston, Toby Stephens, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.
It appears, however, that if Wurtzbach gets casted as the next Bond girl, her co-star who will play James Bond is likely to be Craig. Movie bosses are said to be desperated in having the actor star in two more James Bond movies, according to Daily Mail.
On the other hand, if Wurtzbach played a Bond girl, she would be the second Filipino actress to play the role. The first one was Rachel Grant who starred in the 2002 film “Die Another Day” opposite Brosnan as James Bond.
Before Grant, who was born in Paranaque, Philippines, to a British father and Filipino mother, several Asian actresses played a Bond girl, including Malaysian “Tomorrow Never Dies” star Michelle Yeoh, Chinese actress Tsai Chin and Japanese actresses Akiko Wakabayashi and Mie Hama of “You Only Live Twice.”
