After being detained for causing a scene in a police precinct last week, Filipino actor and television host Billy Joe Crawford is now back on the top-rating noontime show on Philippine TV, "It's Showtime."

On Monday, the 32-year-old actor spoke to the audience and apologized for the drunken incident last September 7, which led to his detention at the Taguig City police headquarters.

The actor denied allegations that the incident happened because he was high on drugs.

However, he admitted that he had been drinking alcohol prior to the incident.

Billy also said that he and his girlfriend, Coleen Garcia, never had a fight that evening.

"I'm just a human being who is learning how to love and how to live. I never take drugs and will never hurt a woman. I just want to live properly," he told the audience.

Billy added that he "learned his lesson the hard way but is nonetheless grateful because he now has a better relationship with God."

As he apologized to the public, the actor described the situation as an eye-opener and vowed to be more responsible next time.

Billy also said he is grateful for the support exhibited by his 21-year-old girlfriend and his home network ABS-CBN.

On Thursday, the broadcasting network said it only offered the actor time to rest and was not suspended from his hosting duties.

The actor was charged with malicious mischief and alarm and scandal over the incident.

A day after he was arrested, Billy underwent inquest proceedings at the Taguig Regional Trial Court.

He spent September 7 in detention for making a scene inside a police precinct, where he damaged a police precinct's glass sliding door by kicking and punching despite efforts of two policewomen to pacify him.

The actor was arraigned Tuesday morning and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
