The Hollywood star Vin Diesel is set to reprise the role of Nation Security Agency's spy Xander Cage in the much-awaited 2002's "xXx" sequel, officially titled "The Return of Xander Cage." According to a new report, the "Fast & Furious" actor will be joined by three Asian stars, Deepika Padukone, Jet Li and Tony Jaa for the upcoming sequel. Read on for detailed scoop.
According to Empire Online, Twitch Film claims that the action stars Tony Jaa of "Ong-Bak" and Jet Li of "The Expendables" are being eyed as the newest cast members of the "xXx." While there is still no news about the details of Jet Li and Tony Jaa's roles, it is said Deepika Padukone will be a part of Vin Diesel's team.
Fans must note that Columbia Pictures and the associated persons are yet to confirm Jet Li and Tony Jaa's involvement in "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage." However, the director D.J. Caruso recently confirmed Indian actress' Deepika Padukone's role in the movie. On his Twitter account, the director hinted that they will start the production in January, 2016 and will be joined by "Bajirao Mastani" actress in February, 2016.
"@CyrineZanaib @6eyf__ we start in january. She starts sometime in February," D.J. Caruso wrote on Twitter during Q&A with fans.
In addition, "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" will feature Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers) as NSA agent Augustus Gibbons and UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor in an unspecified role.
