Director of "Final Fantasy XV" Hajime Tabata disclosed new features in the upcoming RPG game. He also revealed some downloadable contents and game structure.

Tabata said, as reported by Gematsu, that there are six downloadable contents available in the new Final Fantasy XV" Season Pass. Furthermore, he explained "That's not everything. Those are what we've announced today, something we've decided that we'll certainly do."

Tabata also said Square Enix has not made decision yet about other downloadable content outside of Season Pass, but stated that "If we decide to make downloadable content outside of the Season Pass we're currently selling, then that will be the case. Although there's a lot right now that isn't clear."

Square Enix will soon release the latest installment of "Final Fantasy" franchise next month, hence, the main focus of the game development team is to polish the main game before fixing other details. According to VG247, Tabata also said "Once we can be finished with that, I think we can get up to speed on downloadable content and VR content. And by the way, Episode Prompto is different than the [PlayStation VR] content content we announced with the Season Pass."

Therefore, add-on contents for Episode Prompto will be different than what was shown at the E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 in June.

Regarding the game structure, development team combined both open world parts and linear parts to make up the full game structure. The first half of the game is a continuous open world, while the second half is a story-driven and linear gameplay.

"So that you can also get a taste of traditional 'Final Fantasy' progression. If we assume you'll play only the main routes of the first and second halves, it'll take about 40 to 50 hours," Tabata said.

"Final Fantasy XV" is due for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release on Nov. 29. Square Enix will also offer a Digital Premium Edition of the game, wherein the US$84.99 Digital Premium Edition will include downloadable version of the game and the Season Pass for six upcoming downloadable contents.
