Fox's police procedural comedy-drama "Lucifer" will return with Season 2 this month, and fans can expect to see actress Tricia Helfer as Charlotte Richards aka Mom, Lucifer and Amenadiel's mother.
"Season two? Mom. If you want to go from one word to two words, Tricia Helfer," Yibada quoted the executive producer Joe Henderson as saying. "She is awesome. She just came in and owned the role in a way you rarely see but when you hire Tricia Helfer, you know is going to happen."
Fans will recall that in the final episode of Season 1, Lucifer (Tom Ellis) was badly injured. He asked God to protect Chloe (Lauren German) and, in exchange, he would work for him again. God showed him a vision and was tasked to capture a soul who escaped from hell. He revealed to Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) that the soul he needs to recapture is their mother's.
Helfer is a Canadian supermodel and actress who was seen in the re-imagined "Battlestar Galactica" TV series as Cylon Number Six. She also guest starred in a number of TV series, such as "Con Man" as Louise, "Suits" as Evan Smith, and "The Firm" as Alex Clark.
According to Yibada, the brothers will work together in Season 2. It can be surmised that capturing Mom and taking her back to hell will not be an easy feat. Henderson also said that while the first half of the season will be focusing on Mom, they are also laying seeds for some inter-character romances in the second half.
The Lucifer Writers Room on Twitter had also revealed the titles of the first seven episodes, namely: "Everything's Coming Up Lucifer," "Liar, Liar, Slutty Dress on Fire," "Sin-Eater," "Lady Parts," "The Weaponizer," "Monster," and "My Little Monkey."
The series also features Kevin Alejandro as Detective Dan Espinoza, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen, Scarlett Estevez as Trixie, Kevin Rankin as Detective Malcolm Graham, and Rachael Harris Dr. Linda Martin.
"Lucifer" Season 2 will premiere on Sept. 19.
