Luke Cage's bullet proof body has its own share of disadvantages. As seen in the first sneak peek released by Netflix, the titular superhero is apparently "sick of buying new clothes."
With only weeks away from "Luke Cage" Season 1 debut, Netflix has released a footage via Youtube showcasing the antihero's humor as he faces off his enemies. On the 1-minute clip, Luke confronts a group of criminals inside a boxing gym. When rounds of bullets were fired and left Luke unharmed, his enemies found themselves completely stunned and in deep shock.
"I guess you guys haven't heard about me, have you?" Luke said.
"I'm about sick of always having to buy new clothes."
Marvel's "Luke Cage" follows the evolution of the titular character after relocating to Harlem, New York to move past his failed relationship with Jessica Jones. His journey begins after a botched experiment endowed him with super strength and unbreakable skin. As the series progresses, he will be pulled out of the shadows to fight a battle in his city while also confronting a dark past.
The series stars Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Mahershala Ali as Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes, Alfre Woodars as Mariah Dillard, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Theor Rossi as Shades, Frank Whaley as Rafael Scarfe and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple.
In April, Colter offered fans what to expect from his latest project during a panel at Wizard World in St. Louis - Entertainment Weekly reported. The actor teased that his Marvel character will do "a lot of badass stuff," while also teasing that Luke Cage's origin story will be shown in a "really cool way."
"He wasn't trying to be a superhero [in Jessica Jones]," Colter said during the panel.
"The series [Luke Cage is] about him growing into that."
The first season of Marvel's "Luke Cage" will debut on Sept. 30 on Netflix.
